A case of embezzlement of funds in ‘Sanman Capital Limited’

New Delhi – The Supreme Court is hearing a petition challenging the Delhi High Court’s order to conduct a court-monitored inquiry through a Special Investigation Team into serious allegations of misappropriation of funds by the promoters of ‘Sanman Capital Limited’ (formerly Indiabulls Housing Finance Limited). The court reprimanded the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for not appearing in the hearing. “We will not appreciate this behavior. Once we issue a notice, those who have to come here. How can they say ‘they will not appear in the Supreme Court’? They do not even have the courage to come to the court?”, the court reprimanded.
At this time, the Additional Solicitor General sought one week’s time. The court granted it. The court reminded the CBI that a formal complaint is not required to take action.
