Chaos in Parliament on day one of Monsoon Session over ‘Operation Sindoor’

New Delhi – On the very first day of the Monsoon Session, opposition protests over the Pahalgam terror attack and ‘Operation Sindoor’ led to chaos in both Houses, forcing adjournment. Speaker Om Birla stated that a discussion would follow Question Hour, criticising the disruption.

Mallikarjun Kharge said the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack are still at large. He cited J&K’s LG acknowledging intelligence failure and referenced Trump’s claims about preventing India-Pakistan war, demanding answers from the Government.

Minister J.P. Nadda clarified that the Government is open to a full discussion and that all aspects of Operation Sindoor will be shared with the nation.

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is conducting a fair and rule-bound investigation. He urged the media to avoid speculation until the final report is released.

Monsoon Session to run for 32 days

Scheduled from 21 July to 21 August, the session includes 18 sittings. No proceedings on 13 and 14 August due to Independence Day events. Over 15 Bills are expected to be tabled.
