UP State administration removes 105-year-old illegal tomb in Siddharthnagar

Siddharthnagar (Uttar Pradesh) – The 105-year-old tomb of ‘Fagu Shah’ was demolished by the administration using a bulldozer. The tomb was standing on the ‘Charagaah’ (land reserved for animal grazing) land. A fair used to be held here every Thursday, in which people of both Hindu and Muslim communities offered chadars.

On June 26th, 2025, former BJP MLA had announced to recite Hanuman Chalisa here. After that, the administration banned the fair and offering of chadars, and also ordered the removal of this illegal tomb.

Editorial Perspectives

  • An illegal tomb was standing for as long as 105 years. This is shameful for the previous ruling leaders across parties and also for the administration.
  • One cannot imagine how many more such illegal tombs exist in the country. All the Governments need to pay attention to this and take action.
