Religious persecution in Pakistan exposed in British Parliament

London (UK) – A meeting held in Committee Room 7 of the British Parliament shed light on the religious persecution faced by minorities in Pakistan. The session was organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Freedom of Religion and Belief.

The meeting highlighted state-sponsored atrocities against Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, as well as Shia and Ahmadiyya Muslims in Pakistan. A grim picture of the role played by Pakistan’s military and political establishments in enabling these abuses was also presented.

During the session, British MPs, human rights advocates, and community representatives not only testified to the misdeeds of the Pakistani government and military but also submitted documentary evidence. These records indicate that the persecution of minorities in Pakistan is not a series of isolated incidents, but rather part of a deliberate and systematic strategy carried out with the backing of state and military institutions.
