“If our religion is attacked, we will respond” : Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri

Statement by Bageshwar Dham’s Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri at the ‘Sanatan Mahakumbh’ in Patliputra (Bihar)

Patliputra (Bihar) – “Some people want a crescent moon on the Indian national flag — but that will never happen. Several forces are plotting a ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ (a campaign to Islamise India), but we have only one dream – ‘Bhagwa-e-Hind’. If our religion is attacked, we will strike back,” said Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham (Madhya Pradesh). He was addressing a large gathering at the Sanatan Mahakumbh 2025 held at Gandhi Maidan in Patliputra.

He further stated, “We have no personal enmity with Muslims or Christians. However, we strongly object to those who incite division among Hindus in the name of caste.”

The Sanatan Mahakumbh, organised on the occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti, has witnessed the presence of thousands of devotees, along with saints, Mahatmas, Jagadgurus, and Mahamandaleshwars from across the country. The event was inaugurated by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and is being led by former Union Minister Ashwini Choubey.

The multi-day event includes religious discourses, devotional bhajans, saints’ congregations, fire rituals (havan-pujan), and Vedic chanting. For the convenience of attendees, dedicated sections have been set up: a grand pavilion for 50,000 devotees, special enclosures for dignitaries, a media section, a dining area (bhandara), and a medical unit.
