‘There is no God other than Allah’ hoarding in the way of Mauli’s Palkhi

Pune (22ndJune) – Pune witnessed the arrival of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s palkhis amidst a widespread devotional atmosphere. Citizens of all ages welcomed the processions with spiritual fervour, standing on either side of the streets to catch a glimpse of the greatly revered palkhis.

Devotion was spread in every corner of the city as the Warkaris moved forward, chanting the Lord’s name to the rhythm of cymbals and mridangas. Greeted by drenched-in-devotion followers, the arrival was met with offerings of fruits and water distributed by the Indian Army.

However, on the way of the palkhis a huge hoarding was noticed that said – ‘Allah ke siva koi mabud nahi’, meaning, ‘There is no God other than Allah’. This was in Bhavanipeth area of Pune where thousands of pilgrims were taking darshan of Mauli’s palkhi. This hoarding was an insult to the religious sentiments of Hindus.

The hoarding was put up to greet Muslims on Eid by a social organisation called ‘Madarsa Anvarul Islam’. However, they were inconsiderate and did not remove the hoarding despite the arrival of Dnyaneshwar Mauli’s palkhi. The insensitivity was apparent when the Police administration, which imposes restrictions at the time of every Hindu religious festival saying that it would hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims, did not order the removal of this hoarding. (This inaction of the Pune Police is shameful. They are expected to be impartial, especially in all religious matters. – Editor)

Editorial Perspectives

This incident might prompt Hindus now to put up hoardings next to Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai and Jama Masjid in Delhi saying, ‘In all the three worlds there is no God other than Bhagawan Shrikrushna’.

Please note that non-Muslims are prohibited from entering Mecca. However, if Hindus even think of spreading Hindu Dharma in this area, all the 50 Muslim countries in the world will be up in arms against India
