Mumbai – “Those wearing skullcaps and sporting beards didn’t vote for me. It was the Hindus who voted for me, and that is how I became an MLA. So should I now side with the Urdu-speaking people instead of standing with the Hindus? It is the need of the hour for Hindus to come together as one. Mumbai’s DNA belongs to the Hindus. Only those clad in saffron will sit in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation.”

This was the emphatic statement made by BJP leader and Minister for Fisheries and Port Development, Nitesh Rane, during the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the ambitious ‘Borivali Ro-Ro Jetty (Phase 1)’ project.

Speaking about the ‘Ro-Ro’ project, he said, “This ferry service will allow passengers to travel along with their vehicles. A journey that used to take an hour and a half will now be completed in just 15 minutes.”
