We will show our power if ‘Hindi’ language is forced on us – Declare Thackeray brothers during a rally

We are not against any language. Don’t do injustice to anyone; but if a hand is raised on you, don’t spare the hand. We will have to stand together to protect Mumbai. We will show our ‘Shakti (power)’ if there is ‘Sakti (compulsion)’ in the Hindi language. We accept Hindu and Hindustan; but forcing Hindi language on us is not acceptable. There will be no compromise on the use of Marathi language. Marathi people should be united. They need to be alert and vigilant.

Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai – M is of Maharashtra and not of Municipal Corporation. Don’t be divided, don’t forget Marathi identity. We need to be seen together rather than giving speeches.

Marathi people’s steel fist was seen on this occasion. The dividing curtains between us were removed by Anajipant. We have come together and will remain together. The issue of language is not superficial. ‘Use and throw’ is BJP’s policy. Now, both of us together will throw others. In 1992-93 riots, Marathi people protected even non-Marathi people for being Hindus. Those who speak Marathi are patriotic Hindus. If you are referring to Marathi people as ‘goons’ because they are agitating to demand justice, then we are goons. ‘Batenge toh Katenge (if divided, we will be destroyed)’ slogan was used to divide Maratha community with other Marathi people. Let us now bury all our  differences and form a strong unification of Marathi people, appealed Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, the Chief of Thackeray faction in his address at Worli Dome Hall where MNS President Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray declared to come together on the issue related to Marathi language and about their remaining together even in future during the victory rally held on 05.07.2025.

Let the unity for Marathi remain and let Balasaheb’s dream come true – Raj Thackeray

Raj Thackeray

BJP had to go back a step just by the discussions on holding a protest march against compulsion of Hindi language. Maharashtra is bigger than any dispute or any row/ quarrels. Devendra Fadanvis managed to bring us together which even respected Balasaheb couldn’t do. The point of three languages was in the education policy of the Central Government for coordinating between the Centre and States. It is not required in the State education policy. In a Hindi speaking State, which language will be taught as the third language ? Hindi speaking States are not developed and many people come here from those States for jobs. Marathas ruled over the Hindi region for 125 years but Marathi was not imposed on those States. Can we not be proud of the Marathi language even if we study in another language as a medium of education ? Balasaheb Thackeray also studied in English medium. The issue of language was used by these people to check if they can separate Mumbai from Maharashtra. Now, they must have realised what can happen when Maharashtra burns with anger. Are they going to force anything on us because we are calm ? The States have been formed based on the different languages spoken in the country. Don’t fight for trivial matters but if someone doesn’t want to listen to you, just slap him. Don’t make videos of such things. Importance of Marathi was imbibed in us by Balasaheb.
