- The deceased woman, named Asha, was a resident of South Bengaluru. She was a widow and had been in a live-in relationship with Shamsuddin for over one and a half years. They had met while working at the same company.
- In recent days, frequent quarrels had arisen due to Shamsuddin’s alcohol addiction. On the night of the murder, he returned home intoxicated, leading to a dispute during which he strangled her to death.
- He then placed her body in a sack, transported it on his two-wheeler, and disposed of it in a garbage transport vehicle located 20 km away.
