
Kannur (Kerala) – Govind Krishnan M, a resident of Kannur, who studied Vedic science in Gurukul will soon join ‘Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre’, the main centre of ISRO at Thumba in Thiruvananthapuram, as a scientist.
1. His classmates from Gurukul opted to be ‘Purohit’ but Govind chose science. He says, “Spirituality and science don’t go together is a misconception and I have proved it.”
2. He further stated that he gave his best to the Vedic education in one phase of his life and in the other phase, he gave everything to science but he never left one for the other.
3. In 2011, he completed fourth standard studies from the Kendriya School at Payyannur and then left the normal education to study at Brahmaswam Muth in Thrissur in Gurukul for four years.
4. His thread ceremony was performed when he was in fourth standard and immediately his Gurukul journey started.
5. Later, Govind started his normal education in school. He completed his study till tenth standard staying in Gurukul.
6. He took admission in Alva’s College at Moodbidri, Mangaluru for higher secondary education and then, he graduated from the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, at Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram, with a B Tech degree.
7. Govind has been selected through ISRO Central Recruitment Board procedure and will officially join ISRO in July 2025.
8. He wants to continue religious rituals even in his professional life. He says that Vedic education has developed concentration, discipline and strength in him.
9. Govind’s father Haresh Kumar is a former navy officer.
