
New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a conversation with Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian astronaut to reach the International Space Station. The interaction was broadcast live on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). Congratulating him warmly, Prime Minister Modi said, “I wholeheartedly congratulate you and extend my best wishes for hoisting the Indian flag in space.”

Prime Minister Modi told Shubhanshu Shukla:
“Today, though you are physically far from your motherland, you remain in the hearts of every Indian. Your name itself signifies ‘auspiciousness,’ and this journey of yours marks the beginning of a new era.”
“While it may seem like just the two of us are speaking right now, the emotions of 1.4 billion Indians are with me. My voice carries the collective enthusiasm of the entire nation. Is everything alright there? How is your health?”

Responding to the Prime Minister’s questions, Shubhanshu said that everything at the International Space Station is in order. He described the experience as a dream come true. “This journey from Earth to space has not been mine alone; it belongs to the entire nation,” he said. “It is an immense joy to represent India in space.”
