Regarding this, Police Commissioner Deven Bharti said, “For the last 2 months, we have been holding discussions and meetings with political and religious leaders of all religions, as well as members of various political parties, for the removal of loudspeakers. Officers from various Police stations participated in the drive. I am particularly happy that people of all religions have exhibited harmony.”
Earlier, MNS President Raj Thackeray had also given the Government a deadline to remove the loudspeakers from mosques.
Editorial PerspectiveThe Police must also keep a watch on whether the loudspeakers are reinstalled on these structures after some time. |
