Washington DC (USA) –Although the Iran-Israel war ended after 12 days, the objectives that the US and Israel aimed to achieve through the war have not been fulfilled, according to a report by a committee from the Pentagon, the headquarters of the US defence forces.

1. The United States entered the war by launching airstrikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran. The purpose behind these strikes was to cripple Iran’s nuclear weapons programme by destroying these sites. In this regard, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) of the US presented a detailed report. The report was prepared to assess the extent of damage caused to those facilities. The report states that the bombs dropped by US B-2 bombers did not cause any significant damage to the core infrastructure of Iran’s nuclear programme. The damage sustained has only delayed the programme by a few months. It will now take Iran’s nuclear programme several months to recover and return to its previous state.

2. On the other hand, US President Donald Trump once again claimed that Iran’s nuclear programme had been completely destroyed. Trump stated that certain media outlets are trying to undermine what he called one of the most successful military operations in history. He asserted that Iran’s nuclear sites were completely destroyed, and as a result, American citizens are criticising media outlets that are raising doubts about the effectiveness of the strikes.
