Despite an FIR being registered a month ago for molestation, no action was taken against the accused; they were arrested only after the girl’s suicide

Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) – A 17-year-old girl died by suicide after enduring continued harassment. About a month ago, she was harassed, and an FIR had been registered against Aamir, Suhail, Shoaib, and Saqib in connection with the incident. However, no action was taken against them.
Frustrated by the inaction, the minor victim hanged herself on June 17. Following her death, the police arrested all four accused.
The victim was at home with her two sisters. While her sisters were on the terrace, she hanged herself from a ceiling fan. According to police reports, on May 5, the four accused had lured the girl by falsely claiming that her mother had met with an accident, and took her to a remote warehouse where they assaulted her.
Despite this, the FIR was filed under mild sections, and no action was taken against the accused. The accused had also pressured the victim’s family to withdraw the case.
