New Delhi – “Creating ‘His Story of Itihaas’ was a responsibility I took upon myself. Every film either requires political or financial support — I have neither. Still, with strong public backing, this film can reach many more people. No film has ever received such kind of citizen-driven support till now; but if people unite and demand screenings in their cities or villages, everything is possible,” said writer-director Manpreet Singh Dhami in a telephonic conversation with Sanatan Prabhat. The film has been in release for three weeks. Dhami has also appealed to the Governments for support in facilitating the screenings and make the movie tax free.

“On the verge of bankruptcy,” says Dhami
“Even after three weeks of release, we are being denied access to cinema halls. We’re almost facing bankruptcy, yet we continue striving for its screening,” Dhami shared.
Key points raised by Dhami

“We have neither glorified any political party nor praised any government. The film is a sincere attempt to present historical truth.”
When asked whether the film will be released on OTT platforms, he replied, “For that, either the film must go viral or feature major stars or their children. Our film has neither.”
“Over 50 lakh people have watched the trailer. Those who liked it must now firmly demand access to the full film.”
Speaking on what inspired him to make the film, Dhami said, “When I learnt about the work of Neeraj Atri, I was enraged to realise how distorted our history books are. As a Sikh, I was already aware of the Mughal atrocities, but the level of distortion became clear only after reading Atri’s work. Writing and directing this film was my duty.”
Appeal to voluntary organisations: Arrange screenings in schools and colleges“We are working on showing the film in schools and colleges. I appeal to all voluntary organisations, devout Hindu groups, and spiritual institutions to come forward, sponsor the screenings, and ensure that this film reaches as many children as possible,” Dhami told Sanatan Prabhat during the telephonic interview. https://twitter.com/SanatanPrabhat/status/1935720499474247990?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1935721446820680108%7Ctwgr%5E30529d4a00cd41f630784ff568b75a701448627f%7Ctwcon%5Es2_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fsanatanprabhat.org%2Fmarathi%2F925632.html |
Editorial PerspectiveIt is a Dharmik duty of Hindus to strive for wider screening of such films. People must demand its release in local theatres with persistence. |
