Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir launches fresh rhetoric against India!

Washington – Despite the recent diplomatic setback in ‘Operation Sindoor’, Pakistan continues its confrontational posture toward India. During his ongoing visit to the United States, Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, made a controversial and inflammatory statement targeting India. While addressing members of the Pakistani diaspora in the United States, Munir reportedly declared, “We will avenge our defeat in the 1971 war by breaking India into pieces. ”This claim was revealed by Pakistani journalist Ajaz Sayed during a televised discussion on a news channel.
Munir’s remarks have drawn strong criticism from observers, particularly considering Pakistans internal challenges and international scrutiny over its support for extremist elements. His rhetoric is being viewed as an attempt to deflect from Pakistan’s domestic crises and diplomatic isolation.
1. In his address to the Pakistani diaspora in the United States, Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir stated:“We fought the war against India together with China. Pakistan had received weapons and military equipment from China to fight against India.”
2. General Munir refused to recognize the April 22nd attack in Pahalgam (Jammu & Kashmir), in which several civilians and security personnel were killed, as a terrorist attack. His denial contradicts international reports and is likely to inflame further diplomatic tensions.
3. General Munir also claimed that Pakistan fought India on 5 fronts, including the cyber domain. He asserted: “Our drones reached Gujarat and even Delhi.” He went further to state that India’s railway network was disrupted as part of this alleged campaign; claims that remain unsubstantiated and appear to be part of psychological warfare or propaganda.
Editorial PerspectiveBefore General Munir indulges in such daydreams, he should realise that Pakistan itself stands on the brink of fragmentation. |
