New Delhi – People are extremely angry with the Congress member Arfa Khanam for showing a cow instead of a goat for Bakri Eid greetings on social media. Later she removed the post. The picture showed a Muslim boy taking a cow for sacrifice. People demand, if Shrmishtha Panoli was arrested, Arfa Khanam also must go to jail. Arfa Khanam has circulated another video in which she is apologising.

In this video she says, “I respect all religions and faiths. I have removed the post as soon as I noticed my own mistake. I only wished to convey greetings for the festival and never wanted to disrespect anyone’s religious sentiments. Let’s all come together for harmony, peace and mutual respect. (This apology is sheer pretence, because it has come after strong protest from Hindus. – Editor)

• Apology is not enough. It was a deliberate action. Arfa Khanam must be imprisoned and punished severely.

• When Hindu religious sentiments get hurt, they have to urge the government to take action against the offender. Does the government expect Hindus to take law in their hands like the Muslims do ?
