A “Muslim Community Control Committee” has been established in Bhukum village

  • After Himachal Pradesh, Now in Maharashtra Too : Boycott Against Muslims

  • Campaign launched to prevent the entry of non-local Muslims into the village!

Pune, June 8 – In a significant move, Bhukum village in Mulshi Taluka of Maharashtra has established a “Muslim Community Control Committee” to prevent non-local Muslims from entering the village. Dinesh Majire has been elected as the president of this committee. This development follows an incident in Paud where a non-local Muslim individual desecrated a Hindu deity’s Idol. In response, the Gram Sabha (village assembly) of Bhukum, within the jurisdiction of the local Gram Panchayat, has formed this committee to safeguard temples and ensure overall security in the village. Rules concerning Muslims were also drafted and adopted during the Gram Sabha. The local police station and the Gram Panchayat will exercise oversight over the committee.

Guidelines Regarding Non-Local Muslim Traders and Individuals:

  • The Bhukum village merchants’ association and the committee appointed by the Gram Sabha will conduct a door-to-door survey of all shops/flats/buildings and compile a register.
  • Villagers must neither purchase nor sell any goods from/to Muslims running shops, food stalls (e.g., panipuri vendors), salons, grocery stores, vegetable sellers, scrap dealers, etc. This is aimed at economically pressuring them to return to their native places.
  • Muslim cooks, waiters, security guards, construction workers, laundry workers, etc., working in the village in rented or purchased premises should not be permitted to establish any mosque or dargah (Muslim religious structures) on such premises.
  • No land, house, or flat in the village should henceforth be sold or rented to any Muslim. Details of previously sold/rented properties must be obtained. Property owners currently renting to Muslims must ensure immediate eviction. The responsibility lies with the property/flat owner.
  • The committee formed by the Gram Sabha must ensure that while implementing these regulations, no communal discord or violation of freedom of expression occurs. Adherence to law and order is mandatory. This view was expressed by Mr. B.T. Yadav, Secretary and Gram Panchayat Officer. The resolution was unanimously passed by the Gram Sabha.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Commendable initiative by Bhukum village ! Similar committees should be formed across villages by taking inspiration from this model.
  • Due to the government’s and administration’s failure to protect Hindus from Muslims, Hindus are being compelled to form such bodies themselves. The right to self-protection is a natural human right. If anyone criticizes the villagers of Bhukum for this move, Hindus must collectively counter such criticism !
