Encroachment claim filed regarding 6 acres of Hindu temple land in Pakistan

Protests by Hindus

Hyderabad (Pakistan) – Hindus, including women and children, protested outside the Press Club in Tando Jam City, Moses Khatian district, against the acquisition of 6 acres of temple land in Pakistan’s Sindh province. The protest was held on the call of the “Pakistan Dalit Ittehad”. The protesters said that the construction workers have also blocked the road leading to the Shiv temple.

Hindu leader Sital Meghwar stated on this occasion that some individuals have begun unauthorised construction on the land of the Shiva temple in Moses Khatian.
Another leader, Ram Sundar, said that the temple is sacred to us, and builders have started construction on the land surrounding the temple, including the community cemetery. Shiv Kachi, head of Pakistan Dalit Ittehad, said that despite a written complaint to the police and district administration, no legal action was taken.
If the government and local authorities do not pay attention to this, the next step will be protests in Hyderabad city, and a petition will be filed in court.

A 100-year-old temple

The Shiva temple is 100 years old. There is a committee to manage the 4 acres of land surrounding the temple. Hindus are cremated near the temple. An annual religious ceremony is held in the temple.
