Two Muslims arrested in UP for making fake documents

  • Fake Aadhaar and PAN cards were being made for just ₹900

  • Earned crores by producing forged documents

Bareilly (UP) – Mohammad Faheem and his accomplice Ziaul Mustafa, who had been creating fake Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, residence certificates, caste and income certificates for the past year, have been arrested by the Police. A raid conducted at their public service centre revealed several forged documents. Fake certificates belonging to people from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, and Jharkhand were also found with the duo. Superintendent of Police Mukesh Chandra Mishra said that the two had been producing these fake documents for over a year.

1. Faheem worked with the Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank to update Aadhaar cards. However, he was removed from his job after complaints surfaced that he was charging extra money from people for the service.

2. In 2024, he opened the Azhari Jan Seva Kendra and an Aadhaar centre in his village, where he and Ziaul Mustafa produced fake Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, voter IDs, residence certificates, caste certificates, and even forged UP Board high school mark sheets. They charged only ₹900 per fake document.

3. This racket has earned crores of rupees by producing thousands of forged documents.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Will the so-called secular and progressive voices in India ever question why a community with minority status is often at the forefront of such criminal activities?
  • It is important to investigate who these fake documents were made for—were they intended for Bangladeshis or Rohingya infiltrators?
  • The fact that they earned crores suggests thousands of fake identities were created. For such a massive fraud, the accused deserves nothing less than the death penalty.
