Saharanpur(UP) – In Bhojpur village of this district, Jilla Panchayat and Mahsool Vibhag (revenue department) teams bulldozed an under construction illegal mosque under heavy police protection. Mohammad Istkar, Ehtesham and Mohammad Nadeem were constructing an illegal mosque on the western side of the village land.
A few days ago, the Police had stopped the construction of the illegal mosque as soon as they got the information. Deputy District Collector Subodh Kumar informed, “Some people were constructing a place of worship without permission. Action has been taken against 11 people charged with illegal activity. A warning notice served to them said that construction could be done only with proper permission, in a prescribed period of time. Despite that the construction was going on. Jilla Panchayat has demolished illegal mosque.
Congress MP Imran Masood criticises
Congress MP Imran Masood has called this action as biased and anti-democratic. He asked, “how do you decide that the mosque is illegal ? The owners of the land are constructing the mosque on their own land. They had even informed. How does village map come into picture ?
