Quetta (Balochistan) – ‘Balochistan was forcibly and with foreign support merged into Pakistan. After witnessing decades of violence, human trafficking, disappearances, and human rights violations in Balochistan, we now declare ourselves independent from Pakistan. The world should recognise our independence and sovereignty’, Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He also urged India to recognise Balochistan as an independent nation and to allow the opening of an embassy in India.
World must not stay blindfolded
Addressing the Pakistani Government and military, Mir Yar Baloch said, ‘Even if you kill us, we will rise again. We are fighting to save our lineage. The Baloch people have taken to the streets. They have decided that Balochistan is no longer a part of Pakistan. The world should not sit idly by, blindfolded, watching all of this’.
We are not Pakistanis
Mir Yar Baloch appealed to Indians saying, ‘We are Baloch. We are not Pakistanis. Please stop calling us Pakistanis. Only the people from Pakistan’s Punjab province are Pakistanis’.
International community must ask Pakistan to leave Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir
Mir Yaar Baloch demanded that the international community ask Pakistan to vacate Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). ‘We fully support India’s decision. If Pakistan does not listen to India, a repeat of the 1971 situation could occur. Due to the greed of Pakistani army generals, once again 93,000 Pakistani soldiers may have to surrender to India. What happened in Dhaka in 1971 could happen in Kashmir. India is capable of defeating the Pakistani army’.
Editorial PerspectiveIf Pakistan can show Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as part of its territory on its map, and China can claim Tibet and Arunachal Pradesh as its own, then Indians believe that India too should show Balochistan as an independent country on its map and extend its support ! |
