Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) border still protected by the grace of Shri Tanot Mata Temple

Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) – A ceasefire has been declared between India and Pakistan. During the three-day state of war, Pakistan attacked Indian territories—Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat—using drones and missiles. Jaisalmer was among the targeted locations. On this border stands the Shri Tanot Mata Temple. In the wars of 1965 and 1971, 450 Pakistani bombs were dropped near this temple, but not a single one exploded. These 450 unexploded bombs are preserved in a museum within the temple premises. This time as well, the drones and missiles launched by Pakistan were destroyed mid-air by India, preventing damage. Locals and soldiers believe that, once again, Shri Tanot Mata’s grace protected Jaisalmer.
Shri Tanot Mata Temple is located in Tanot village, one of the border villages near Jaisalmer, adjacent to the India-Pakistan border. This village is often referred to as the last village of Rajasthan, from where the border is clearly visible. At the entrance of the temple, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel are stationed, and they perform the daily morning and evening worship and aarti rituals.
