India-Pak War Timeline : Operation Sindoor: India strikes deep into Pakistan

  • Over 50 drones shot down

  • 3 fighter jets downed

  • Military bases in 10 cities targeted

  • Naval base at Karachi Port destroyed

  • Pakistani PM forced into bunker

New Delhi – On the night of 7thMay, Pakistan launched missiles and drones targeting 15 Indian military bases. However, India’s air defense system, the S-400, neutralized these threats mid-air. The next morning, on 8thMay, India destroyed Pakistan’s HQ-9 air defense systems in several of its cities. In retaliation, Pakistan launched further attacks post 8 PM on 8thMay using drones, missiles, and fighter jets targeting Jammu, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Yet again, India’s advanced air defense systems intercepted and destroyed these threats mid-air.

More than 50 drones, over 8 missiles, and 3 fighter jets were brought down, including one American-made F-16 and two Chinese-made JF-17s. Following this failed offensive, India responded with a powerful counter-attack without crossing the border. Drones and missiles were used in the operation. Simultaneously, the Indian Navy attacked Karachi Port, causing extensive damage. The assault was so overwhelming that it reportedly forced Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif into a secure bunker. No casualties were reported from Pakistan’s attacks on India. However, the extent of damage or casualties in Pakistan following India’s counter-strike remains unconfirmed. Meanwhile, unverified reports suggest that Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir was detained amid an internal mutiny within the military.
