Mumbai – In the wake of India-Pakistan war Mumbai coastal area is under increased security watch. Sensitive areas are under CCTV and drone surveillance. Mumbai Police in coordination with Indian coast guards have increased security on the coastal areas, ports, docks and the sea routes. The entire sensitive area has been covered with CCTV cameras and drones.
Mumbai Police have launched ‘Sagar Kavach,’ an extensive coast guard operation, under which, the coastal security has been beefed up. Fishermen have been asked to be alert and keep a keen watch on the movements of the boats. All the entry and exit sea routes for the fishermen’s boats have increased check points to deter unauthorised person.
‘Shoot to kill’ orders for anyone spotted in the Naval premises – Nitesh Rane, Minister for Fisheries![]() In the wake of the war a meeting has been held for the fishermen with the Navy. Nitesh Rane, the Minister for fisheries said, “fishermen have been instructed to avoid sensitive areas. The route drawn by the Navy should not be trespassed, as, there are ‘shoot to kill’ orders. Very soon an app will survey and collect the data of the fishermen’s boats. According to an information, Pakistan has seized a few boats from Gujarat fishermen, while they allowed the fishermen to go. There is a possibility that these boats can be used by Pakistan, like 26 November 2008 attack, therefore the Navy has issued an alert. |
