New Delhi – On the night of 06.05.2025, India carried out ‘Operation Sindoor’ by attacking terrorists’ bases in Pakistan. Pakistan tried to avenge India’s action; but before that, India destroyed Pakistan’s missiles in air, informed the Defence Ministry. On the night of 07.05.2025, Pakistan tried to target 15 army bases in India in Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat. But India’s S-400 anti-missile system destroyed Pakistan’s missiles in air. Later, in the morning of 08.05.2025, India attacked Pakistan’s HQ-9 air defence system using drones at 27 places and in 9 cities. It has increased the tension between both the countries. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened an emergency meeting.
1. The Defence Ministry informed that in the attack carried out by Pakistan in the morning of 08.05.2025, Indian armed forces used ‘Harpy Drone’ to target air defence radar and systems at many places in Pakistan. India launched these attacks on Pakistan’s land with equal speed.
2. Air defence systems at Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Karachi have been destroyed. It is also reported that a stadium in Rawalpindi has also been damaged.
3. Sounds of blasts were heard in Amritsar in Punjab on the night of 07.05.202. In the morning of 08.05.2025, debris of rockets was found in the farms in 3 villages viz. Dudhala, Jethuwal and Pandher. The rocket was launched by Pakistan and destroyed by the Indian defence system.

What is ‘Harpy Drone’ ?

Harpy Drone is an air vehicle made by Israel, developed by ‘Israel Aerospace Industries’ which can be operated remotely. It is mainly made to destroy enemy’s radar systems and air defence systems. These drones are capable of keeping a watch and carry precise attacks. They, therefore, are effective in military activities. ‘Harpy’ drone is also called the ‘Fire and Forget’ missile because it is destroyed immediately after carrying out an attack. These drones were purchased by India in 2000 from Israel.

Four Chinese persons nabbed on Nepal border
Four Chinese citizens were arrested on Raxaul border in East Champaran district in Bihar. They were trying to enter India illegally. They had no visa. They have been arrested by armed border security forces.
