Success of Operation Sindoor

New Delhi – It has been reported that Jaish-e-Mohammed’s notorious terrorist Abdul Rauf Azhar was killed in India’s attack on terrorist camps in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor. Rauf Azhar was the younger brother of Jaish chief Masood Azhar. He was the mastermind behind the 1999 hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane and its landing in Kandahar, Afghanistan. It had already been revealed that 10 relatives of Masood Azhar and 4 close associates were killed in this attack.
Rauf had long been protected by the Pakistani military and the ISI. The US imposed sanctions on him in 2010. India’s repeated attempts to include him on the United Nations list of global terrorists were vetoed by China.
