Doctor busy on a video call, nurse on duty performed a caesarean delivery, twins die

Bhagyanagar (Telangana) – A case in which 30-year-old B. Keerthy of Eliminedu village in Bhagyanagar, the capital of Telangana, died during childbirth, has come to light. Keerthy had become pregnant after taking help of ‘IVF’. In the 8thmonth of her pregnancy, she suddenly went into labour. Due to this, they shifted her to Vijayalakshmi Hospital. As Dr Anusha Reddy of that hospital was busy speaking on a video call, she asked the nurse to perform the caesarean section, but the twins died during the procedure. After this incident, the family of the victim (Keerthy) got angry and filed a protest against the doctor.

Rangareddy’s District Health Officer Dr Venkateshwar Rao said that the hospital was closed after the incident. They had begun an investigation. They shifted Keerthy to another hospital. The public demanded strict action against the doctors and the hospital administration for their irresponsible attitude.
