Other than violence, what else can be expected in a State where MPs of the ruling party openly issue threats in a public programme ? Why are the fake political parties who claim to have the responsibility of protecting the Constitution not saying anything about such an abrasive threat ? Do they feel that the Constitution has conferred rights on TMC to resort to violence ?
Kolkata / New Delhi – MP Bapi Halder of Trinamool Congress (TMC), elected from Mathurapur constituency in Bengal, threatened during a rally that “Muslims have the right to Waqf Board’s properties. If anyone tries to eye these properties, their eyes will be gouged out and limbs will be broken”.
He also added that it was his responsibility as of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s to protect Waqf Board’s properties in the State.
Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind refutes the statement
Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind’s Secretary Maulana Niyaz Farooqui has strongly objected to MP Halder’s statement. He said that Halder should use appropriate language. “What does he mean by gouging out eyes ? Nobody has the right to do such things. If he has said it, it is totally wrong. The Government is responsible for the riots in Murshidabad against Waqf Law. It is the responsibility of the local Government to ensure that wherever there is opposition to this law, it is expressed in a peaceful manner. It is also the responsibility of CM Mamata Banerjee. It has led to deployment of the Border Security Force there.”
