Pune (Maharashtra) – The bodies of Kaustubh Ganbote and his friend Santosh Jagdale, both from Pune, who were killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, were brought to their respective residences. Sharad Pawar, chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), visited Ganbote’s home to pay his final respects. Kaustubh’s wife shared her harrowing ordeal, saying ‘My husband was shot in front of my eyes at Pahalgam. We were told to recite the Azaan (Islamic call to prayer). All of us women began chanting the Azaan loudly out of fear. But the terrorists killed the men standing nearby. We saw them get shot in front of us. We took off our bindis (symbolic forehead marks worn by Hindu women) and started raising slogan ‘Allahu Akbar’ (Allah is great) in desperation. Yet, they killed everyone’.
