Jihadi terrorists attack Hindu tourists in Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir)

  • 27 dead and 12 injured

  • Tourists were asked their names before firing on them

Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir) – 27 were killed and 12 others injured when jihadi militants opened fire on Hindu tourists in the tourist destination area of Baisaran here around 2.30 pm on April 22.  These tourist were fired upon while riding horses. Three locals and their horses were injured in the firing. Number of casualties may go up as few individuals are in critical condition.

‘The militants opened fire on the tourists only after they asked for their names and realised that they were Hindus,’ said eyewitnesses. The police and the army have launched a hunt for the militants. Terrorist organization- ‘The Resistance Force’ (TRF) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Former Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir S. P. Vaid said he feared that this attack could affect the Amarnath Yatra.

Pakistan behind terrorist attacks !

US Vice President J.D. Vance is currently on a four-day visit to India, while Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Saudi Arabia since April 22. It is said that Pakistan has orchestrated this attack to deliberately attract attention to Kashmir on this background. Generally, terrorist do not attack tourists as local traders gain their employment from this. Having said that it is believed that this attack was a deliberate act.

Currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted strongly to the terrorist attack via a post on ‘X’, stating:
“I condemn this barbaric terrorist attack in the strongest terms. My heartfelt condolences are with those who lost their loved ones. The perpetrators of this despicable act will not be spared. Their evil intentions will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unwavering — and will only grow stronger.”

Amit Shah rushes to Srinagar

From Saudi Arabia, PM Modi spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah over phone, seeking updates and issuing instructions. Following the call, Shah held an emergency meeting with top security officials and immediately left for Srinagar.

Six foreign terrorists involved in the attack

Initial reports suggest that six terrorists were involved in the assault. It is believed they are not local Kashmiris but foreign nationals. The attackers opened fire using automatic rifles for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. With hundreds of rounds fired, the death toll is feared to be significant.

Panic among over 2,000 tourists after gunfire

At the time of the attack, more than 2,000 tourists were present at the site. As terrorists began indiscriminate firing, chaos erupted and people fled in panic. Several were injured, and one individual reportedly suffered a heart attack. Security forces swiftly evacuated the wounded and admitted them to nearby hospitals.
