Thirteen Khalistani terrorists arrested in Punjab

Amritsar (Punjab) – Police have arrested 13 terrorists linked to the banned Khalistani terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), including one minor. (The involvement of minors in Khalistani terrorism highlights the urgent need to eradicate this threat from its roots – Editor) In a four-day-long operation by the Punjab Police, two terrorist bases were destroyed. These bases were being run by Babbar Khalsa International with the support of the ISI. Police have stated that these terrorists were plotting to assassinate heads of Police stations in the State. Authorities have indicated that further arrests may follow.

1. The intelligence unit in Jalandhar, along with Police from Batala, carried out the raids and destroyed the terrorist bases. Satnam Singh, alias Satta, was operating from France, while Jaswinder Singh, alias Mannu Agwan, was coordinating operations from Greece.

2. Satnam Singh’s name first surfaced in 2010 when a large cache of explosives was recovered in Punjab.

3. From the arrested terrorists, Police seized 2 grenades, 1 grenade launcher, 2.5 kg of advanced explosives, detonators, and other materials.

4. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav stated that these terrorists were involved in anti-India activities at the behest of the Pakistani intelligence agency. The arrested terrorists had also plotted to target several Police stations across the State.
