147 incidents of attacks on Hindu homes and temples in Bangladesh last month

According to a report from the Dhaka-based human rights organisation ‘Ain o Salish Kendra’ last month, there were a total of 147 incidents of vandalism of Hindu homes, temples, and businesses in Bangladesh. Approximately 408 houses were damaged, including 36 incidents of arson. Additionally, there were 113 incidents of vandalism of businesses owned by minorities, and 32 incidents of attacks on Ahmadiyya sect mosques.

Bangladesh should focus on the security of minorities – India

India had already warned Bangladesh about the attacks on Hindus. Indian Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that instead of criticising others, Bangladesh should focus on the safety of minorities within its own country. It is extremely concerning that those who commit atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh are roaming freely. (Such statements will have no effect on Bangladesh. India must speak in a language that Bangladesh understands and must protect Hindus. If Israel were in India’s place, it would have done so already, this must be considered – Editor)

Editorial Perspectives

  • Since there is going to be a genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh anyway, such incidents are going to be routine, and Hindus across the world, their organisations, and even Governments will continue to remain inactive.
  • The International Human Rights Commission, which always blames Hindus in India for alleged injustices against minorities, is blind to the genocide of Hindus happening in Bangladesh. India should also rebuke the Human Rights Commission on this matter.
