Murshidabad (Bengal) – In Muslim-majority Murshidabad, during the protest against the Waqf Amendment Act, Muslims resorted to large-scale violence. They pelted stones on a large scale and set many vehicles on fire. This included police vehicles. They also attacked the Police. The situation is tense here at present.

A protest march was taken out by Muslims against the Waqf Amendment Act from Jangipur PWD ground here. When the procession moved from Jangipur to Umarpur to block National Highway 12, the Police stopped them. After this, an argument broke out. As a result, the Muslims started pelting stones at the Police. (Since the hands of the Muslim-loving Trinamool Congress are tied, they cannot take any strict action.
