Dy CM Shinde approves Rs 50,000 per month for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s temple !

Demand to revamp Sindhudurg Fort and surrounding area along with the temple

Mumbai, 28th March – Laksh of rupees are spent on maintaining tyrant Aurangzeb’s tomb while allocating a paltry sum for the maintenance of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s temple is an injustice, appealed the delegation of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde. Dy CM immediately asked the secretary of the State Revenue Department, in writing, to submit a proposal for increasing the amount allocated every month for the maintenance of Shri Shivrajeshwar Mandir by Rs 50,000. He even called up the secretary of Revenue Department and clearly instructed him to provide Rs 50,000 instead of Rs 250 per month for the temple. Dy CM Mr Shinde himself donated Rs 50,000 for the temple and set an ideal example before giving instructions for increasing Government aid. HJS thanked him for his positive response to their demand.

Mr Satish Sonar and Mr Ravi Nalawade on behalf of HJS met Dy CM Shinde, along with Shiv Sena MLA, Mr Anand Bondarkar. The Congress Government started providing funds for the maintenance of tyrant Aurangzeb’s tomb from 2012. Till November 2023, the Archaeology Survey of India (ASI) spent more than Rs 6.50 lakhs on maintenance of Aurangzeb’s tomb. Aurangzeb was a cruel oppressor as is the history of  Maharashtra. He brutally oppressed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj before killing him. Such an invader is not fit to receive any respect and sending money for the maintenance of his tomb is hurting the self-respect of Maharashtra. The State Government should, therefore, stop providing funds and give substantial funds for maintenance of the temple of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, demanded HJS.

Develop Sindhudurg Fort for patrons of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

It has been mentioned in the memorandum submitted to Dy CM Shinde by HJS that the ancient and only temple of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was built by Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj on Sindhudurg Fort at Malvan. Millions of followers of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and tourists visit the fort and temple. They have to come by boat to visit the fort and proper facilities need to be provided to the visitors. The fort is very big and trees have grown in abundance. Beautification of the fort needs to be carried out by removing trees grown in a disorderly manner and by constructing a beautiful garden. Facilities for visitors such as providing drinking water, building wash-rooms and beautifying even the sweet water well on the fort is necessary.
