Police launch search operation for Bangladeshis in Nagothane (Raigad District) following memorandum by Hindutva organisations

Police urge citizens to provide information on Bangladeshis

Raigad – Hindutva organisations in Nagothane, Roha Taluka,through Warkari Sampraday’s Ha.Bha.Pa. Bapu Maharaj Raokar submitted a memorandum to Kolad Police Station, demanding a search operation to verify the Aadhaar cards of residents, labourers, handcart vendors, and street vendors to identify Bangladeshi nationals. Following this, the Police have initiated a search operation in the Nagothane area and have urged locals to report any information about Bangladeshis to Kolad Police Station immediately.

Hindutva organisations in Nagothane to assist Police in the operation

Amid the increasing number of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Nagothane, various Hindutva organisations have united to address the issue. A meeting was held with representatives from Hindu Janajagruti Manch Nagothane, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Pragya Bharati, Warkari Sampraday, and Sanatan Sanstha. These organisations collectively submitted a memorandum to the Police, demanding strict action against illegal immigrants. A memorandum was also submitted to the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Roha. Hindutva organisations are closely monitoring whether the Police are taking concrete action in this matter.

Demand for stringent action against illegal Bangladeshis

In the memorandum to the Police by Ha.Bha.Pa. Bapu Raokar it is stated that, “A search operation should be conducted in the Nagothane area to identify Bangladeshi nationals, and strict action should be taken against them. The new labourers working on Reliance Industries’ upcoming projects should be investigated. The population of Bangladeshis in Miranagar, Nagothane, is increasing. The Aadhaar cards of all residents there should be verified and investigated.”

Bapu Raokar (Warkari Sampraday), Mr Yogesh Thakur (Shri Shivpratishthan Hindustan’s Dharkari), Mayur Naik, Chetan Kamthe, Mayur Shirke, Mr Mandar Paranjpe (RSS), Kailas Pardeshi, Pancham Pardeshi, Ketan Nandgaonkar, Sandesh Jadhav (Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan), Ganesh Ghag (BJP), Dhanraj Umale.

Police response and further actions

Assistant Police Sub-Inspector NS Patil from Kolad Police Station responded to Ha.Bha.Pa. Bapu Raokar’s memorandum through a letter, stating,

1. Police Patil representatives have made public announcements in Nagothane, requesting information on Bangladeshi nationals. In the meeting with the Police Patil, it was conveyed that if Bangladeshi or migrant individuals are found, they should be reported to Kolad Police Station immediately.

2. In a recent peace committee meeting at Kolad Police Station, authorities instructed attendees to report information about migrants.

3. Awareness boards will be installed at various locations to inform the public. Yourmemorandum(submitted by Hindus) has been officially recorded in Police files.
