An announcement by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Kalisetti Appalanayed in Andhra Pradesh
Vijaynagaram (Andhra Pradesh)—Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Kalisetti Appalanayed, while speaking at an event to mark International Women’s Day in Andhra Pradesh, announced that if a woman gives birth to a girl as a third child, she will be handed Rs 50,000 from her salary, and if the child is a boy, she will be given a cow.
1. MP Appalanaidu, while clarifying his announcement, said, “My announcement is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naidu’s call for measures to be taken to increase the population and their proposal to have a third child. We are appealing to women to have more children and we will encourage them if they have a third child.”
2. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced at an event that all women employees will be given maternity leave irrespective of the number of children, irrespective of the number of children. This has sent a message that women should give birth to as many children as possible to increase the number of youth in the state in the next few years
