London (Britain) – On March 4, in observance of Ramzan, an Iftar banquet was organized for the first time at the British Parliament’s ‘House of Commons’. During the event, an Imam (a Muslim religious leader) addressed the gathering in both Arabic and English. British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer was present at the occasion.
He stated, ‘Muslims in Britain are facing challenges due to ongoing conflict in Gaza. This period has been challenging for them because of the Gaza war and the suffering of Palestinians. (Does the British Prime Minister not feel sorrow for the family of Israeli citizens killed in Hamas attacks? – Editor) During the event, the Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the Muslims and thanked them for their contributions. The All-Party Parliamentary Group organized this event under the title, ‘The Big Iftar’.
Britain’s royal family hosts Iftar at the historic Windsor Castle
On March 2, 2025, the British royal family hosted an Iftar banquet at the historic Windsor Castle for the first time in its 1,000-year history. The event was attended by more than 350 guests. It was organized by King Charles III, who was personally present at the occasion.
