Washington, US – Billionaire businessman Elon Musk also attended US President Donald Trump’s first Cabinet meeting. Elon Musk is the head of the government efficiency department (DOGE) and is facing a lot of opposition because of the policies he is implementing. At the cabinet meeting, when Trump asked Musk to brief him about his plans, he revealed that he is constantly receiving death threats.
1. Elon Musk said that many government systems are very old, which are being reformed. “Our main goal is to reduce America’s growing deficit. If we don’t act now, the country could go bankrupt. Elon Musk said that the country cannot bear another $2 trillion (more than Rs 174 lakh crore) deficit.
2. Elon Musk acknowledged that the Government Efficiency Department will make mistakes; but they will be fixed soon: “Our goal is to reduce the government deficit by $1 trillion (more than Rs 87 lakh crore) by 2026, which will require savings of $4 billion per day,”
3. Many government employees have resigned due to policies of Government Efficiency Department. The American Federation of Government Employees, the largest association of government employees, called Musk’s policies illegal and dangerous and warned of legal action.
