New Delhi – On one hand, Bangladesh speaks about the good relations it shares with India and on the other hand, it holds India responsible for every problem in Bangladesh. If every day, some person is holding India responsible for every problem in that country, it is not appropriate. Bangladesh needs to decide the kind of relations it wants to maintain with India, stated India’s external affairs minister Dr S Jaishankar.

Attacks on minorities in Bangladesh is a matter of concern for India
Dr Jaishankar stated further that two main issues are arising in the relations between the two countries. One of which is attacks on minorities in Bangladesh which is a matter of grave concern for India. We shall express our views on this issue. (Attacks have been taking place on Hindus in Bangladesh for many years but there has been a huge increase in these attacks in the last seven months. Hindus feel that if India is still only thinking about expressing its views on this issue, will Hindus be protected till some solution is found ? – Editor) The other point is internal politics in Bangladesh. It is also a major issue which is affecting its relations with India.
Editorial PerspectiveNot only Bangladesh but India also needs to decide what is to be done with Bangladesh. India is indifferent although there are still attacks on Hindus every day in Bangladesh. Hindus all over the world are keeping note of the developments in Bangladesh. |
