Ajmer (Rajasthan) – Vishnu Gupta, national president of Hindu Sena has sought permission to perform ‘puja’ of Bhagawan Shiva in Ajmer Dargah on the day of Mahashivaratri. He has written a letter to Ajmer district collector in this context. Vishnu Gupta has already filed a petition claiming existence of Shiva Temple in Ajmer dargah which is pending in the court. In his petition, Mr Gupta has referred to a book written by Haravilas Sharda in 1911. Mr Gupta has written in his letter that Mahashivaratri is a festival celebrated by Hindus once in a year, with a lot of enthusiasm. It is dedicated to Bhagawan Shiva and has special significance in Hindu Dharma.
Editorial PerspectiveHindu temples were demolished at many places all over India by Muslims, and mosques or dargah were built in their places. The Union Government should take a note of this history and conduct survey of these sites to bring forth the truth; till then, such demands will continue. |
