Kashyap Patel to head as Director of the FBI

(The FBI stands for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the top investigative agency in the United States.)

Washington DC (USA) – Kashyap “Kash” Patel, of Indian descent, has been confirmed as the Director of the US’ investigative agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The US Senate has confirmed his appointment. In the vote held on 20thFebruary, Patel was elected to the position by a narrow majority of 51-49.

Apart from Democratic Party lawmakers, two Republican lawmakers, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, voted against Patel’s appointment. Democratic lawmakers in opposition are concerned that Patel may follow the orders of Donald Trump and target his opponents.

Kashyap Patel’s Warning : We will hunt down those who seek to harm the Americans, no matter where they are in the world

After being elected, Patel posted on social media saying, ‘To those who seek to harm Americans – consider this your warning. We will hunt you down in every corner of this planet. The American people deserve an FBI that is transparent, accountable, and committed to justice. The politicising of our justice system has eroded public trust. We will rebuild an FBI the American people can be proud of(sic)’.
