Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh) – The Muslim Reform Sabha has opposed the erection of a statue of Maharana Pratap in front of a mosque in Sujanpur in Hamirpur district. In this regard, a delegation of the Reform Sabha met the District Collector and submitted a representation to him. After this, the District Collector has sent the matter to the Deputy District Collector and he will take action on it.
Rafiq, General Secretary of the Muslim Reforms Sabha, says that the city is being beautified, which is a good thing and the city should be beautiful. There is no objection to installing the statue; but it should not be installed in front of the mosque. Muslims from the surrounding areas come to offer prayers in the mosque. If there is a statue of Maharana Pratap in front of the mosque, then a feeling of hatred can arise. Therefore, this statue should be installed somewhere else. We have no objection to installing the statue; but so that there is no dispute in the future; therefore, its location should be changed.
