Decision of the Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department of the Maharashtra State
Mumbai– Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department of the State Government has taken a decision to change the names of 132 Government run Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) on 15th January 2025. These ITIs are going to be named after legendary figures and freedom fighters. The list of ITIs which will undergo a change of name include ITIs from 30 Districts of Maharashtra with maximum being from Chandrapur, Nanded, Buldhana, Yawatmal and Nagpur.
The State Government has instructed the concerned department to implement this decision soon. Accordingly, some ITIs have already been named after Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare (Majalgaon), Padmavibhushan Pandurang Shastri Athavale (Mhasala), PVC Naik Jadunath Singh (Mohol), PVC Lance Naik Karam Singh (Sangola), PVC Major Somnath Sharma (Akluj), Astronaut Kalpna Chawala (Sangrampur), Tarkateertha Laxmanshastri Joshi (Wai), Shri Brahmachaitanya Gondavalekar Maharaj (Dahiwadi). Other ITIs shall be named after revolutionaries, great agriculturists, freedom fighters, martyrs, people’s leaders, great Ayurveda practitioners, Saints and great educationists.
