Claims of 7 Crore devotees attending the Maha Kumbha are false : Akhilesh Yadav

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav makes anti-Hindu remarks; BJP responds

Prayagraj (UP) – The Government has claimed that 7 crore devotees bathed at the sacred Triveni Sangam between 13th and 16th January. However, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has criticised this as false information. He said that every claim made by the Government about the number of devotees at the Maha Kumbha is untrue. He also mentioned that some vehicles are plying empty. (On 10th February 2013, during the tenure of the Samajwadi Party Government, a stampede at the Kumbha Mela resulted in the deaths of 36 devotees on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya. During that time, the Samajwadi Party Government did not provide any assistance for performing last rites for the deceased. Therefore, it can be argued that Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party, which neglected the safety and welfare of devotees during the Kumbha Mela when they were in power, and failed to provide any facilities, is an anti-Hindu party – Editor)

Government does not need Yadav’s certificate : BJP

In response, BJP Member of Parliament from Chandni Chowk in Delhi, Praveen Khandelwal, said that the Government does not need Akhilesh Yadav’s certificate. His statement has no basis. The world is witnessing how the Maha Kumbha is gaining popularity among people. Devotees are coming not just from within the country but also from abroad.

On Akhilesh Yadav’s remarks about the Maha Kumbha, Uttar Pradesh Minister Daya Shankar Singh said that there is no larger religious event in the world. Akhilesh Yadav should understand what he aims to convey with such statements. While political rivalry is expected, when it comes to India’s culture and civilisation, we must all unite and work towards strengthening the nation.

What Yogi did is not possible for everyone : Shri Aniruddhacharya Maharaj

Shri Aniruddhacharya Maharaj

Shri Aniruddhacharya Maharaj said, ‘The entire country is celebrating the sacred Maha Kumbha festival. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath established the Mahakumbhanagari in just four months, and all arrangements for devotees were made there. Not everyone has the ability to establish such a large-scale facility. What Yogi did is not possible for everyone. There is no lack of arrangement in the entire area’.

CM Yogi Adityanath to review the preparations for Mauni Amavasya

CM Yogi Adityanath will visit the Triveni Sangam on 18th January to review the preparations for the Mauni Amavasya Snan, scheduled for 29th January. The Government estimates that around 8-10 crore devotees will have a holy bath on that day. Yogi will review the arrangements with officials from all departments and may also inspect the pilgrimage site. In 2013, due to poor planning of the Kumbha Mela under the Samajwadi Party Government, stampedes occurred, and devotees were not provided adequate facilities. Therefore, Akhilesh Yadav, who has consistently taken an anti-Hindu stance, does not have the right to speak about the Maha Kumbha.

More than 7 crore devotees have bathed in Triveni Sangam so far !

According to the Yogi Adityanath Government, over 7 crore devotees have bathed at the sacred Triveni Sangam in the four days since the start of the Maha Kumbha.

Editorial Perspective

Azam Khan, a radical Muslim, was known for his anti-Hindu stance. Nevertheless, during the Samajwadi Party’s tenure in power in 2013, Azam Khan was appointed as the minister in charge for the Kumbha Mela. Due to his poor management, stampedes occurred, and devotees were not provided with necessary facilities. Therefore, Akhilesh Yadav, who has always shown hostility toward Hindus, has no right to comment on Maha Kumbha !
