
Prayagraj – In an effort to safeguard the 45 crore devotees attending the world’s largest cultural event, the Uttar Pradesh government has deployed a robust anti-drone system in Maha Kumbhanagar. With strict measures in place against unauthorized drone flights, the Police intercepted two drones flying over Maha Kumbhnagar and notices have been issued to the operators.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Police in Maha Kumbhnagar have heightened their vigilance to ensure the safety of devotees at the Maha Kumbha.
On the day of the first Amrut-Snan, anti-drone system shot down six drones. All these drones were being flown without any prior permission from the police. For security reasons, flying drones has been banned during the Maha Kumbha Mela. Three anti-drone systems have been activated in the Kumbha region. Out of these, two are RF (modern system) based, while the remaining one is a radar-based system. The RF-based drone system is capable of detecting illegal drones up to 8 km and blocking their signal up to 2 km, while the radar-based drone system has the ability to detect illegal drones up to 15 km away and deactivate them within a 3 km radius. Earlier, three illegal drones were deactivated in the Kumbha region and the number of deactivated drones has now reached nine.
