Scientific research conducted by ‘Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay’ with the device ‘UAS (Universal Aura Scanner)’ : On Shri Ganesh Chaturthi, and during the Ganesh festival, the Ganesh principle (vibrations) are a thousand times more active than other times. Spiritual practice done in this period unto Shri Ganesh is more beneficial in imbibing the Ganesh principle. A seeker-sculptor of Sanatan Sanstha under the guidance of Sachchidanand Parabrahman Dr Athavale has sculpted a smoky complexioned (white) Ganesh idol attracting the Ganesh principle. Scientific research was conducted by Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay from 12-9-2018 to 17-9-2018 using the UAS (Universal Aura Scanner) device to study the effect of the increased Ganesh vibrations on the idol prepared by Sanatan. The interpretation and spiritual analysis of the observations in the study are given next.

The Universal Aura Scanner (UAS) was developed in 2005 by Dr. Mannem Murthy, a former nuclear scientist from Telengana. By using this instrument the Energy and the Aura of an object, a premises, an animal or an individual can be measured.
1. Interpretation of the observations in the study : In this study, UAS readings of the Sanatan sculpted smoky complexioned idol of Shri Ganesh were taken from 12-9-018 to 17-9-2018. For comparison, UAS readings of the Ganesh idol worshipped for the 5 days during the Ganesh festival at the home of Mr Umesh Naik at Madkai, Goa were taken.

Note 1 – After Mr Umesh Naik (a Sanatan seeker) of Madkai, Goa, brought a Shri Ganesh idol home on Shri Ganesh Chaturthi on 13.9.2018 UAS readings were taken before and after Puja (ritualistic worship) on 13.9.2018 and the next three days that is from 14.9.2028 to 16.9.2018 before and after Arati (a ritual of worship), and on 17.9.2018, before and after Uttarpuja (ritualistic worship before immersion). Thus totally for 5 days, the Shri Ganesh idol was studied.
Note 2 – The smoky complexioned Shri Ganesh idol sculpted by Sanatan has been kept in the prayer room of Sanatan ashram for last few years. Ritualistic worship is not being performed on this idol. Seekers do spiritual practice like chanting by sitting in front of the idol. Even during the study from 12.9.2018 upto 17.9.2018, no ritualistic worship was performed on it.
No negative energy was detected in both the idols. Analysis of the observations regarding the positive energy Aura in both the Shri Ganesh idols is given next.
1 A. On all the five days of the Ganesh festival, after doing ritualistic worship on the Shri Ganesh idol at the seeker’s home there was an increase in positive energy Aura; the positive energy Aura on the second day was maximum and then it reduced gradually

2. Spiritual analysis of the observations in the study
2 A. Positive energy Aura was detected initially in both the Ganesh idols; but the positive energy aura in the Sanatan sculpted Shri Ganesh idol was much higher : At the beginning of the study, positive Energy Aura of the Shri Ganesh idol at the seeker’s home was 1.70 Metre; whereas the positive energy Aura of the Sanatan sculpted Shri Ganesh idol was 6.63 Metre. The reason why the positive energy aura in the Sanatan sculpted Shri Ganesh idol was 4.93 Metre more than the Shri Ganesh idol at the seeker’s home are given ahead.
‘Word, touch, form, taste, smell and its associated energy coexist’, is a principle of Spirituality. Therefore, wherever we see a Deity in its idol form, its Energy already exists there. Description of the form of each Deity is written in Dharmashastra (the spiritual science pertaining to Hindu Dharma) by the Sages. Therefore, the Deity’s principle is more in an idol sculpted as per Dharmashastra compared to the one sculpted as per the imagination of a sculptor. Sattvikta of an idol depends on the intention of the sculptor making it, components used like soil, colours, etc., place of making it, spiritual emotion of the sculptor towards the Deity etc. Shri Ganesh idol at the seeker’s home was a commercially sculpted idol. Its height was 3 feet and it was coloured. Sanatan sculpted smoky complexioned Shri Ganesh idol is sculpted by a seeker– sculptor under the guidance of Sachchidananda Parabrahman Dr Athavale as per the description in the Dharmashastra; as per era hence contains a lot of Chaitanya (Divine Consciousness). Therefore, a lot of positive energy was detected in this idol through the UAS readings. Spiritually, this idol emits strong positive vibrations. Thus, this idol being more spiritually beneficial for the devotee, has the ability to impart high level spiritual experiences.
2 B. After doing puja for all the five days of the Ganesh festival, the positive energy in the idol of Shri Ganesh at the seeker’s home increased; the positive energy aura on the second day being maximum and it gradually reducing subsequently : After doing Pranpratishtha (A ceremony in which the idol of a Deity is consecrated in order to imbibe the Deity’s Principle in that idol) of the idol on Shri Ganesh Chaturthi, when Shodshopchar pujan (ritualistic worship involving sixteen specific steps) was done, Chaitanya was generated in it. Therefore, from the UAS readings done on the second day, positive energy aura was found to be maximum. The Chaitanya that is imbibed into the idol after the ritual of Pranpratishtha, would not remain for more than a day; yet due to the effect of Divinity, Chaitanya remains in the idol for upto 21 days. Also, during the period of Ganesh festival, due to the Puja rituals on the idol, Chaitanya of the idol may even increase depending on the bhav (spiritual emotion) of the person performing these rituals. Chaitanya of the idol starts gradually reducing after 21 days. Similar occurrence was seen in this idol too. Positive energy aura of the idol was 2.06 Metre on the first day. On the second day, it was 4.18 Metre, that is maximum. From the third day onwards, there was a gradual reduction in the positive energy aura, it became 2.35 Metre on the fifth day.
2 C. Positive energy Aura of the smoky complexioned Sanatan sculpted Shri Ganesh idol increased on the first and second day even without performing ritualistic worship on the idol, it reduced on the third and fourth day, whereas it increased on the fifth day : So that the seekers are benefited by Shri Ganesh principle, and also their spiritual emotion (bhav) increases unto the Deity, the smoky complexioned Ganesh idol was created. A seeker-sculptor under the guidance of Sachchidanand Parabrahman Dr Athavale sculpted the Ganesh idol with seva attitude after an in-depth study of the science of subtle vibrations. Sanatan sculpted Shri Ganesh idol has the ability of absorbing the Ganesh principle from the environment and emitting it. So even though no Puja was performed on this Shri Ganesh idol during the Ganesh festival , the positive Energy of the idol increased or decreased on that particular day according to the Ganesh vibrations present in the environment on that day. On the day immediately preceding Shri Ganesh Chaturthi, the positive energy Aura of the idol was 5.62 Metre. On the first day it increased to 6.42 Metre. On the second day, it was 6.70 Metre that is maximum. From the third and fourth day onwards, the idol’s positive Energy Aura gradually decreased to 5.60 Metre; which means it returned to its original state. On the fifth day its positive Energy Aura again increased to 5.80 Metre.
In short, even though no Puja rituals were performed during the Ganesh festival, the Shri Ganesh vibrations existing in the environment were attracted to the smoky complexioned Shri Ganesh idol and the Chaitanya of the idol increased. This became clear from this scientific research.
O Sculptors, ‘Perform Art not for the sake of Art, but use Art for ‘realizing God’ that is, by using it for ‘spiritual practice’, make a human birth worthwhile !
Shri Ganesh idol sculpted by a sculptor, not doing spiritual practice | Sanatan sculpted Shri Ganesh idol by a seeker-sculptor under the guidance of Sachchidanand Parabrahman Parabrahma Dr.Athavale | |
1. Aim behind making the idol | Maximum number of sculptors use Art as a means of livelihood. They do not do spiritual practice. | The seeker-sculptor used Art ‘not for the sake of Art, but Art for the realisation of God’. Also it was done under the guidance of the Guru so that the seekers are benefited by Shri Ganesh principle, their spiritual emotion towards the Deity is enhanced. |
2. Desire for recognition | Present | Not Present |
3. Spiritual guidance | A majority of sculptors make idols using their mind without studying any religious texts. | The seeker-sculptor has sculpted this idol by studying the vibrations as per spiritual science under the guidance of Sachchidanand Parabrahma Dr.Athavale |
4. Spiritual benefits | 1. A majority of sculptors make idols as per their mind without studying any religious texts. Also, they do not do spiritual practice. Therefore, the idols sculpted by them have very little positive energy aura.
2. Some sculptors make idols which denigrate the Deities, due to their lack of Dharma education. Such acts accrue sin and the wrath of the Deity leading to deterioration. In such idols, there is no positive energy at all but rather negative energy is detected. |
Sanatan sculpted Shri Ganesh idol emits high level spiritual vibrations. Therefore, seekers are spiritually benefited by doing chanting and other spiritual practice by sitting in front of the idol. Also, the visitors to the ashram who are at the level of ‘curious’, get spiritual experiences from the idol kept in the prayer |
(Sanatan Sanstha has published a Holy booklet on ‘How should an ideal Ganesha idol be according to Dharmashastra !’ According to its guidelines, sculptors can make Sattvik Shri Ganesh idols. – compilers)
