New Delhi – The Pew Research Centre in USA has studied the current population trend, which says that Hindus will be the 3rd largest population in the world by 2050.
The Hindu population is projected to rise by 34% worldwide, from a little over 1 billion to nearly 1.4 billion, roughly keeping pace with the overall population growth. India’s population will be 130 crore by then, of which 3 out of 4 will be Hindus. (This means that in India, the Hindu population will dwindle by nearly 5%, and in the same ratio, the Muslim population will increase. Once again this highlights the importance of declaring India a ‘Hindu Rashtra’. – Editor)
Hindus will account for 14.9% of the world’s population. Atheists, agnostics and others who do not affiliate with any religion will make up a declining share of the world’s total population standing 4th at 13.2%.
By 2050 India will be a country with the largest Muslim population in the world
By 2050, however, the number of Muslims in the region is expected to surpass the number of Hindus and are expected to be Asia-Pacific’s largest religious group, making up 30% of the region’s overall population. This significant projected growth is largely due to the young age and high fertility rate of Muslims, relative to other religious groups.
India is projected to have the world’s largest Muslim population by 2050. (When the Muslim population reaches this extent, they will certainly demand that India be converted to an Islamic Nation or demand for a Partition once again. – Editor)
This means India will surpass Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nigeria where the Muslim population is already considerable.
Christian population will decline
Europe is the only region where the absolute number of Christians is expected to decline by 2050. In all other regions, the absolute number of Christians is expected to grow in the coming decades.
The number of Muslims around the world is projected to increase rapidly in the decades ahead, growing from about 1.6 billion or 23% of the world’s population in 2010 to nearly 2.8 billion or 30% in 2050. They are expected to grow twice as fast as the overall global population. In fact, Muslims are projected to surpass Hindus and become the largest religious group in Asia-Pacific by 2050.
