10 seats will be available in the first phase
New Delhi – Delhi University will start offering PhD in the subject of ‘Hindu Studies’ from the academic year 2025-26. The preparations for the same have already started. In the first phase, 10 seats will be made available. The offering is provided based on the proposal of the Standing Committee. The Governing Body of the ‘Centre for Hindu Studies’ of the university itself had recommended providing this facility.
1. Prerna Malhotra, Joint Director of ‘Hindu Studies’, said that the aim of this is to explore new opportunities for students. Students constantly contact us with questions related to this and what research opportunities they can get in ‘Hindu Studies’.
2. If this proposal is accepted, the students will be able to do research on Hindu studies including Hindu scriptures including Vedas. The eligibility for this programme will be as per the rules of Delhi University. Applicants must have a Postgraduate degree in Hindu Studies or related subjects with at least 55% marks in JRF/NEET or PhD examination of the university.
