Mumbai – “There is a law prohibiting animal slaughter in Maharashtra; but cow slaughter is happening openly in Ratnagiri. Although many protests have been held to stop cow slaughter, it has not stopped. On the contrary, cases have been registered against the protestors. Therefore, strict action should be taken against those who slaughter cows. The pro-Hindu Government is in majority in the State. If cow slaughter cannot stop now, when will it stop”, questioned Shiv Sena MLA Nilesh Rane in the Legislative Assembly. He demanded action in the State as per the Prohibition of Animal Slaughter Act. He raised this issue on December 17th, during his speech on the motion of congratulations on the Governor’s speech in the Legislative Assembly.
